Welcome to my blog
Generally churches have been poorly equipped to support men and women with homosexual problems, who voluntarily seek change. That process itself is rarely understood, and the painful nature of such a journey is underestimated, both by those who seek it, and those supporting it. This blog is the story of my journey with 'the church'...
Next month we'll be hosting the "God's Grace and the Gay Men and Women in our Churches" on Wednsday (evening) 9th and all day Thursday 10th March, 2011. This will be at St Elizabeth's Church of Ireland in Dundonald, Belfast. We're grateful for the use of their facilities.
Speakers at this conference represent significant leaders in their fields, from far and wide:
- Alan Chambers President, Exodus International
- Christine Sneeringer, Exodus International (Worthy Creations)
- Jonathan Berry,Director, True Freedom Trust
- Rev Thomas Yap, Anglican UK University Chaplain and Psychotherapist, Redeemed Lives UK
- Andrea Minichiello Williams, Director Christian Concern and the Christian Legal Centre
- Leslie Pilkington, Christian Psychotherapist
- Dermot O'Callgahan, Member of Genral Synod, Church of Ireland.
With the increasing normalisation of homosexuality in our culture and churches, many Christians are caught in the crossfire of sounding too harsh or too compromising. How can churches effectively reach out to gay men and women without compromising what the Bible says about same-sex intimacy?
